Dance Kerr & Dancers (DK&D) is a NYC/NJ based dance company founded by Brooklyn, NY native dance artist/educator Michael Anthony Kerr who has been self-producing his choreographic works since founding DK&D in 2015. DK&D is a sponsored artist with Performance Zone Inc. dba The Field and graciously accepts all tax deductible donations through The Field in support of Mr. Kerr's creative endeavors as an emerging choreographer. All donations are used to directly help to offset the company's operations expenses such as studio rental space for weekly rehearsals, performance pay for dancers and presenting Mr. Kerr's choreographic works within the tri-state area and beyond. Kerr's developing repertoire of dances are rooted in modern and contemporary dance techniques that plays with the contrast of stillness and great physicality within the realm of dance expressionism. His dances are a by-product of the lived experience translated into DANCE, emulating internal struggles and successes; as well as other unexpected sources of inspiration.
