Shannon Chapman grew up dancing in Westchester County. She then went on to study dance and economics at SUNY Binghamton University. She continued her training at Broadway Dance Center. In 2012 Shannon helped open Connecticut Dance Center in Stamford as Assistant Director. Shannon has recently completed her MA in Dance Education at NYU Steinhardt. She has performed with Aries in Flight, Roza Dance Company, Alternative Arts Association, Rebecca Moore Dance, and Parparium Dancers. Shannon continues to teach creative movement, tap, and ballet in the Tri-State area.
Samantha Giordano has been dancing with DanceKerr & Dancers since the beginning of 2017. Prior to this experience, she was a member of the Staten Island Yankees Pinstripe Patrol. Other dance credentials include Newark Beers Honey Beers dance team, being VIP dancer with Dance Olympus dance competition and performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Samnatha is a graduate of the class of 2015 from Hofstra University cum laude with a degree in dance education. With her major, she has performed in various faculty shows in pieces choreographed by artists such as Robin Becker, Anita Feldmen and Amy Marshall. While at college she helped organized a program called Dancers in the Schools which brought Hofstra dancers to schools across NYC and Long Island to provide students with dance workshops. Samantha is so excited to be dancing with this company and looking forward to what the future will bring.
Ashley is so excited to join DanceKerr & Dancers! Born and raised in upstate New York, Ashley began her endeavor as a life-long dancer at the age of 2 ½. She continued her dance studies as an undergraduate at The College at Brockport, SUNY where she earned a BFA in Dance, a BS in Psychology and a minor in Music. After graduation she made the move to the Big Apple to pursue her MA in Dance Education with a PreK-12 Dance Certification from New York University. Ashley continues to perform in NYC, most recently with the company Aries in Flight. Additionally, she keeps up to date on dance research and education by attending and presenting at national conferences and participating in arts outreach and in-reach programs. Currently she is in her seventh year at Poly Prep Country Day School teaching Dance to Middle School students in grades 5 through 8.
Lindsey Jones received her early dance training at O'Connell Dance Studio in Toledo, Ohio and later trained as an apprentice at the Performing Arts Center in Los Angles. Lindsey received her BA in Dance and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley and her MA in Dance Education with a concentration in Teaching in the Professions from NYU Steinhardt. She has performed with Aries in Flight in NYC and was previously involved with the Mandalone Project, Berkeley Dance Project and MixMatch Dance Festival in California. Lindsey was also the recipient of the Mask and Dagger Ward for extraordinary student contribution in Dance and Performance Studies.
Sejeong Kim is originally from Korea and received her B.F.A in contemporary dance and graduate certificate program from Peridance in Ballet contemporary track.
Olivia grew up in Stamford Connecticut where she has been studying dance since a young age. Olivia is a Hofstra University graduate where she received a B.S. in Dance Education K-12. She is a dance educator at New Rochelle High School and also teaches ballet, tap, hip-hop, and jazzin a variety of studios in New York and Connecticut. Olivia also works with different studios to create outreach programs to bring movement classes into public schools. Olivia joined DanceKerr & Dancers in 2015 and is excited to continue to grow within the company.
Rhoslyn grew up in Homer, Alaska with a deep love and dedication to dance. She has taken opportunities to study various styles across other cities, states, and countries to further diversify her dance education. While attending Montana State University in Bozeman, Rhoslyn would become the president of the university’s dance club. Following graduation, she accepted a position as a dance instructor for the Harbor School of Music and Dance, where she also joined Homer’s adult dance collective, performing and choreographing for New Dances Now. Since moving to New York last fall, Rhoslyn continues her pursuit of dance at places such as Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Gibney Dance, and even debuting in New York City’s Persian Parade. She works to further her repertoire, dancing with those equally focused on expression, community, and sharing their passion for dance.
Siobhan Discala began dancing at a young age taking as many dance classes as possible, leading to her acceptance into the dance program at New Voices School of Academic & Creative Arts; featured in the film PS Dance Siobhan Discala in which she appeared in. She has extensive training in movement/dance and the human body including a 200 hour RYT certification. Siobhan is an undergraduate student at Staten Island College and is dedicated to educating herself in the expression, power and possibility within dance. She is our newest company apprentice and looks forward to joining DanceKerr & Dancers as a company member in the near future.
